Sex Therapy with Neurodivergent Populations: ADHD and Autism
About The Training
This training equips clinicians with practical, neurodiversity-affirming strategies for supporting sexual wellbeing and relational connection with neurodivergent individuals and couples in sex therapy.
Whether you're already working with neurodivergent clients or looking to deepen your skills, this training offers real-world tools you can bring directly into the therapy room — with warmth, competence, and confidence.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this training, you'll be able to:
Describe key features of ADHD and Autism as they relate to attention, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and communication
Identify how ADHD and Autism show up in sexual functioning and intimacy
Recognize common clinical presentations like rejection sensitivity, hyperfocus, sensory differences, and masking
Apply at least three practical strategies for sex therapy with neurodivergent clients
Use neurodiversity-affirming language with confidence in your clinical practice
This training is designed for licensed mental health professionals — including LMFTs, LCPCs, LCSWs, and psychologists — working in sex therapy, relationship therapy, or with neurodivergent populations.
2 CEUs are available through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Meet the Presenter
Corie is a therapist, clinical director, and supervisor whose work is rooted in helping people find liberation from the "shoulds" — the timelines, norms, and values that don't quite fit. She brings a compassionate, direct, and deeply relational style to her work with individuals and couples navigating intimacy, identity, and connection.
Her clinical interests include sex therapy, ethical non-monogamy, LGBTQ+ and kink-affirming care, and working with neurodivergent clients. She works from a queer-affirming, anti-oppressive, HAES-informed lens. Corie holds an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy and brings nearly a decade of clinical experience, with specialized training in sex therapy, couples therapy, trauma, affair recovery, and ADHD and Autism. (She'll also tell you her own ADHD keeps things interesting.)
