Sometimes our leaves have to fall and leave us vulnerable to be able to blossom again.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in a cycle of conflict, struggling with intimacy, healing from betrayal, or coping with the impact of sexual trauma, I want to help you make sense of what’s happening and move toward deeper connection and healing. I’m Chenoah (she/her), and I’m here to help individuals and couples navigate the messy, tender, stigmatized, and beautiful parts of life, sex, and connection.
As a couples and sex therapist, I help people repair emotional and sexual bonds, understand themselves more deeply, and nurture relationships to feel safer, healthier, and more exciting. My approach is empathetic, deeply collaborative, and grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a powerful, research-backed model rooted in attachment theory that helps people feel more securely connected in their relationships. EFT helps us understand how your emotions, needs, and learned protective cycles interact in moments of conflict or disconnection. From there, we work together to create new patterns to improve your communication, responsiveness, and intimacy.
I specialize in helping people heal from sexual trauma and shame, navigate out-of-control sexual behaviors, and work through desire discrepancies, painful sex, and other forms of sexual dysfunction. I also support couples through general relationship challenges, infidelity, trust violations, the emotional aftermath of divorce or breakups, and those simply trying to make sense of how to feel close again, emotionally, sexually, or both.
I'm particularly passionate about working with BIPOC and multicultural couples, holding space for the intersectional impacts of culture, race, gender roles, and intergenerational narratives on your relationship and sexual experiences. Therapy with me is a place where those complexities are not only welcome but essential to the conversation. My goal is to create a space where you can be vulnerable without judgment and feel empowered to show up more fully in your life and relationships.
It’s imperative that my clients feel heard, but I believe that it is just as important to gently challenge and confront unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. I show up with warmth, curiosity, and a directness that invites honesty and growth. We’ll go at your pace, but I’ll walk beside you, holding the tools as you dig into the stuck places, because that’s where real transformation happens.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and my Master’s of Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!). My practice is trauma-informed, collaborative, and affirming of all identities, expressions, and relationship structures.
In my free time, I’m usually in the kitchen trying new recipes, soaking up the sun at the beach, loving on my cats, or planning my next travel adventure. My relationships with friends, family, and my community are at the center of my life, and I bring that relational energy into the work we’ll do together.
